Web Hosting Provider SoftLayer finalized SSAE 16

Web Hosting Provider SoftLayer finalized SSAE 16

Greatresponder.com – 2011-07-14 - Two weeks after SoftLayer’s executive officer Lance Crosby won an entrepreneurial award from Ernst & Young, on Thursday to be precise, the web hosting company SoftLayer Technologies revealed that it has finally finalized all the SSAE 16 audit for its 11 data centers.

“We’re committed to operating our data centers and facilities at a level that meets or exceeds the highest industry and regulatory standards,” said Steve Kinman, vice president of customer relations for SoftLayer in a report. “We’re proud to be one of the first in the hosting industry to complete a SSAE 16 review, assuring our customers that they can count on us for best practices in all that we do.”

According to the press release, the independent auditing firm Weave and web hosting provider SoftLayer’s data center in a SOC 1 report performed the audit. According to Softlayer, it has established SAS 70 Type II evaluations since 2008. SSAE 16 will be replacing the old standard review for organization control processes, SAS 70 audit.

“Not only do we want to provide customers with superior assurance and confidence in our operations, we wanted to make it easy for them,” Kinman says. “Using the inclusive method streamlined the process. And we’ve created an easy-to-use tool in our customer portal so customers can e-sign the SSAE 16 non-disclosure agreement and immediately access the verification they need.”

According to the press release, the SOC 1 was created with the use of wide-ranging methods incorporating reviews of relative SoftLayer web hosting service associates. The evaluation incorporated a full assessment of operations and customer service, risk assessment supervising, development and information technology organization as well as human resource.
