Rank Tracker is a brilliant free SEO tool for checking your sites ranking in the search engines for key words. There is a subscription version of this, but unless your running an SEO company the free version is fine. You just enter your URL and list of keywords and in quickly gives you your ranking in any search engine you chose. In the paid version you can store the results and see if you are increasing your rank for certain keywords. I just use a simple spreadsheet for this however. You can copy and paste your keywords into the tracker so it works fine. Then just copy your results back into the spreadsheet under the particular date. If you have any sort of excel knowledge you can create nice graphs which look just as good as any paid software. Also, here’s a quick tip. In the column next to you keyword phrase create another one for search volume. Then another next to that with your competition number. In a third column simply divide the volume by the competition and format the cell as a percentage, to give you a basic KEI (Keywork Effectiveness Index). It’s obviuosly a simple and broad tool, but it can give you a great idea of what Keywords to work on and which ones your wasting your time on. There are some other tools included in this package but I find the rank tracker the most valuable. There are better free tools available for what they do, but since they are free they are probably worth downloading. There is a website auditor, a competition spyglass and a link assistant Here’s the link to rank tracker.
