Greatresponder.com – 2011-10-22 - On Thursday, the leading web hosting provider Intermedia made the announcement that it has now launches its proprietary end-user control panel My Services. The control panel is now available as a mobile app.


As stated in the press release, Mobile My Services will enable the clients of the web hosting provider to use cloud services such as Exchange email and Lync instant message to manage setting such as passwords, contact information and out of office message. This application will also be featuring an automatic email configuration to walk users through the set up of hosted Exchange email on their iPhone.


“So many executives tell us they were headed out of the office for a business trip or vacation ­ and realized half way to the airport that they hadn’t set up their email Œout of office reply,” Michael Gold, president, Intermedia said in a statement. “Likewise, we hear often from IT managers that they’re spending too much time configuring users mobile devices ­ or helping those users adjust basic settings like passwords. Mobile My Services was built to solve issues like these. The app provides a simple way for users to get the job done when they¹re on the go. IT managers and other account administrators like it because it¹s secure and frees up their time for higher value work.”


The mobile app is available on iPhone and iPod Touch devices with iOS version 3.0+. According to the press release, in the near future, the versions that are compatable for iPad and other mobile platforms will be released.


In August, the web hostin company officially launched its HostPilot mobile app for provisioning and managing cloud services.


Both apps are free according to Intermedia. They are presently accessible for current Intermedia clients using hosted Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2010. Mobile My Services is also available at the iTunes app store and Mobile HostPilot is available at both the Android Market and iTunes store.

Greatresponder.com – 2011-08-14 -On Tuesday, the web hosting provider and innovator provider Intermedia made the announcement that it has launched a mobile app HostPilot, for provisioning and managing cloud services.


As stated in the press release, the application can work with Android, iPhones and other platforms. This will enable to provision and managed hosted exchange, online backup and mobility.


Mobile apps have emerged as a convenient, free value-add for hosting customers to manage their accounts. Most recently, Joyent and Stackmob launched mobile app for backend and cloud hosting platform.


The web hosting provider claims that HostPilot will now be able to provide a single point of control so technical administration can be delegated to non-technical staff.


Thanks to hostPilot, Adminastrators will now be able to perform transactions from their mobile devices such as creating new Exchange mailboxes, resetting passwords, wiping a user’s mobile device, adding or removing users from a distribution list, enabling secure instant messaging, accepting or rejecting end users’ requests to access additional services, backing up a mailbox or checking service status notifications.


“Just like cloud services should be mobile, so should cloud control panels,” Manlio Carrelli, CMO, Intermedia said in a statement. “Our customers can securely access Intermedia cloud services, such as email and voice, through any of the various devices they rely on – from smartphones and tablets, to their home or work computer. Now, they can do the same with HostPilot via our mobile app.”


The web hosting company will now offer the HostPilot application at no charge. The company also says it is easy to set up. It is available to current Intermedia customers using Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2010.
