Referring to the press release, the company’s financial results for the year ended March 31, 2011, and iomart’s profits before tax are $4.6 million.

iomart says its revenue has also increased, up 38 percent from last year at $41.5 million.

Returning to iomart, the company says the majority of its growth came from its Web hosting services that generated around $30 millions. This number is an increase of 61 percent over 2010, according to the press release.

“Cloud computing has become something of a buzz word with many companies adding the ‘cloud’ tag to everything they do without backing it up with reliable delivery mechanisms,” Angus MacSween, CEO of iomart said in a statement. “At iomart we have built our technologies from the ground up specifically to be delivered via the cloud. As a result we are becoming recognized as an authority on the provision of cloud-hosting solutions and are well positioned to take advantage as the market evolves and people look for reliable vendors.”

MacSween says iomart has received 400 new orders over the year, many of which were additional orders from existing customers. Most orders include some aspect of cloud or virtual computing, MacSween says.

“With more and more businesses looking to the cloud for their data solutions we believe we have positioned ourselves well to take advantage of this market moving forward,” MacSween added. “We are in a market that is growing and that is here to stay and we fully expect to participate strongly in that growth.”

Iomart continue expanding. Month ago iomart acquired domain registrar and shared hosting provider Switch Media for $2 million. Last year, iomart bought Web hosting provider Titan Internet for nearly $7 million.
